Insight

Land trusts are often misunderstood as unchanging nature preserves, when in reality they are sustained through hard work and applied science.

The Columbia Land Trust protects and stewards more than 56,000 acres of land and over 100 miles of rivers and streams across the Pacific Northwest. Their work depends on inspiring public support and philanthropic investment to fund the land protection and long-term stewardship these landscapes require. Land trusts are often misunderstood as static preserves that are set aside or left alone. Stewardship holds more surprises than most people expect.

We built the brand identity around a simple insight: trust is a verb. Stewardship is active, responsive and deeply human.

That belief unfolds through an emotional brand narrative, iconic photography and a living design system inspired by the forests, diverse landscapes and waterways of the Pacific Northwest. Together, we built a comprehensive brand spanning brand voice, identity, website, email, social, print and signage, all designed to support the full breadth of their work today and into the future.
